Franck Métayer played drums in French gothic metallers The Old Dead Tree until March 2004, when he decided to leave the band "in order to devote himself to his personal life", according to a post on the group's web site.

"His powerful and inspired way of playing drums counted much in the musical choices we adopted during the composition of 'The Nameless Disease', full length debut album of the band.



This separation was carried out in good conditions and the remainer of the band wishes him all the best for the future."

Franck had been with the band since 1999. Previously he played in Kobal(1996-1999).



The Old Dead Tree's original drummer, Frédéric Guillemot, committed suicide in 1999, shortly after the release of the group's first mini-CD, "The Blossom".



Franck Métayer was followed up by Foued Moukid in September 2004.
