Englishman David Mortara is a specialist in "black" Afro Peruvian music, thanks to his many travels and performances in Peru, the birthplace of the cajón. He plays in the group Malambo. Mortara plays Peruvian cajón about twenty years and has been taught by masters such as Peru's "Pititi" and Caverro. He holds regular lectures and workshops in England and made contributions to the British drum magazine Rhythm.
