Chatham native Dave Carter is best known as drummer for The Station. He is also the owner of Planet Playground Records and Springfield Illumination Concepts, plus the founder of the Springfield Area Local Music Association (SALMA).
Dave Carter graduated from Glenwood High School in 1999, where he was a member of the jazz and marching bands under the direction of Don Udey. He went on to play in jazz programs at Lincoln Land Community College and later in the orchestra at Eastern Illinois University, all while playing with The Station.
The band won several awards while traveling throughout the United States from 2005 to 2009, including the Homegrown Music Network’s Live Album of the Year in 2009 for 'Speed of Sound', which Dave Carter produced.
