Percussionist and singer Constantin Sandu, nicknamed Dinu, plays with Taraful Haiducilor (also known as Taraf de Haïdouks), a group of Romanian Roma musicians.
Constantin Sandu plays cymbalum (also spelled as cymbalom or cimbalom, or refered to as ţambal, tsymbaly, tsimbl or santouri. This musical instrument is found mainly in the music of Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Greece and Ukraine. In Czechoslovakia it is also known as a Cimbal. It is related to the hammered dulcimer of Western Europe.
