You may remember Cliff Davies as being Ted Nugentís drummer in the 70ís. Cliff Davies was also an accomplished pianist, producer, and writer. Chalking up 8 Nugent albums and 4 albums by the English band If before Nugent, Cliff spent the 1980ís working as in-house producer for Next City Productions in New York, recording with Grand Funk Railroad among others, and studying music theory at Central Michigan University.
Davis is credited for, among other things, playing drums on Ted Nugentís greatest albums, Cat Scratch Fever, Free For All, Double Live Gonzo, Cat Scratch Fever, Weekend Warriors and more.
The 90's saw Cliff him working as a free lance drummer, producer and writer in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit. Since 1998 Cliff had made his home in the Atlanta, Ga. area. More recenlty Cliff was teaching drums and piano at East Cobb Music Academy
along with running the in house recording studio for students.
Clifford Davies was found dead in his home in Atlanta on April 15, 2008. He died from a self inflicted gun shot wound. Reed Beaver, the owner of Equametric Studio where Davies was employed, reported that Davies called him the night before his body was found and was "extremely distraught" over medical bills.
