At the end of 1999 original Burden of Grief drummer Christoph Schellöh left the band because of personal reasons. The new drummer who joined the band after a short time was Christian Nürnberg. Unfortunately he couldn’t take part on the forthcoming festivals-shows, because of his military service. Therefore the band decided to engage another drummer to play all gigs this year. They found him in the person of Carsten Schmerer.



Coincide to the release of the album “On Darker Trails” in Spetember 2001 drummer Christian Nürnberg was replaced by the help-out-drummer Carsten Schmerer. The latter joined the band as a permanent member.
