Hampton, Virginia based musician Robert "Bob" Gurske was a notable drummer, sound technician and a recording engineer at the Gloucester studio Winter Sound. Through years of work as a recording engineer, Gurske helped many underground rock bands document their music.

Robert Gurske died in July 2011 from complications related to colon cancer. He was 61 years old.
