Scottish drummer Billy Adamson was a a prolific session drummer whose career highlights included 1960s hit recording band the Searchers, with whom he drummed between 1969-1998.



Billy Adamson spent much of the '60s as drummer for such artists as Lulu and Emile Ford, the Nashville teens 60s chart band, PP Arnold, and Jet Harris.



Billy Adamson joined the Searchers in late 1969, replacing Keith Moon-influenced drummer John Blunt. By the time the band's hitmaking days were pretty much over but the group stayed popular on the touring circuit for the next thirty years with Billy behind the drums.



Billy Adamson made the decision to leave the Searchers in 1998 to spend more time with his family.
