Ben's work for tv and film is operated under his partner company, Gizmo Music.
Ben started playing drums at age 9 and has been around music his entire life thanks to his father Anthony Stone who was also a pro drummer in the 60’s and 70’s. By the age of 12 Ben started playing club gigs and went on to join his first touring “show style” band taking over from his father at age 14.After spending 3 years playing mostly 5 nights a week and fitting in small sessions around the gigs he went on to work with the Japanese instrument manufacturer Roland. Ben became Roland UK’s first V-Drums expert and demonstrator travelling performing drum clinics in the UK and USA. Ben’s first insight into electronic drums and synths came a little earlier in life whilst on studio dates and after seeing players like Gary Wallis (Pink Floyd) and Bill Bruford (Yes) use the technology to great musical effect. Ben quickly learned everything about how to program and use these great instruments to bring his musical ideas to life. Ben’s relationship with Roland is still blossoming today. He has played his part in the development of products throughout his time as a Roland V-Drums artist. The Latest chapter in Ben’s career came whilst working with various artists both as a drummer and programmer. In early 2011 Ben got an incredible opportunity from his friend of many years, Gary Wallis.
Gary put Ben forward to take his place on the US leg of the 2011 “Tom Jones World Tour”. With no rehearsals Ben stepped in at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta, GA and filled some big shoes with a rocking band of session legends among who included Jamie Moses (Guitar), Dave Bronze (bass) and Toby Chapman (keys). Footage of Ben’s first show in Atlanta with Tom can be seen on his YouTube channel. Around this time Ben also had the great pleasure of working with Mike & The Mechanics on “The Road” tour which covered Europe and the UK.Alongside learning to play the drums at an early age Ben also learnt to play the Guitar, Bass, Piano and sing. Ben has put these skills to good use both as a musical director as well as in his productions, recordings and compositions for artists, TV and musicals.Ben has recently finished recording the debut album from ex-Starsailor front man James Walsh. The album “Turning Point” will be released on April 7th in the UK.
