Bas Voorter (Roermond, 1977) started his percussion eduction at the Kreato Foundation and the Music Academy of 's Gravenvoeren (Belgium) under Jo Zinzen.
Bas Voorter studied from 1997 at the Conservatory of Maastricht under Pieter Janssen and Werner Otten and from this year he was principal percussionist and principal timpanist of the National Youth Orchestra.
Bas Voorter concluded his study in 2001 and was invited to play in the European Union Youth Orchestra. He played at the Gustav Mahler Chamber Orchestra under such conductors as Claudio Abbado and Daniel Harding.
Bas Voorter is teacher at the Kreato Foundation. He occupies two part-time positions: as a percussionist at the Limburg Symphony Orchestra (from 2002) and as principal timpanist at the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Holland (from 2003).
