Arie Verhaar studied drums at the Rotterdam Conservatory at the Light Music department after some years of private lessons with Eelco de Boer. On the conservatory he studied with Fred Krens, Peter Ypma, Hans van Oosterhout, Bob Langenberg and Lucas van Merwijk. In november 1999 Arie graduated. After some years of hard work and experience he became an allround drummer and continued his development by taking private lessons with Chander Sardjoe.



Before and during his studies at the conservatory Arie already played in several groups. Currently he's a member of groups named Grand Slam!, Cuccurullo Brillo Brullo and The GrooveYard. Arie also does a lot of replacement jobs with differing bands and regularly takes part in projects. He also teaches Rhythmical Training at the Pop Academy of the Rotterdam Conservatory.
