Mr. Angel Frette studied percussion with Juan Ringer. He has been a percussionist with the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra since 1988. As a soloist he has made appearances with most Argentine Symphonic Orchestras. His concert appearances include the premiere of the "Concertos for marimba & Orchestra" by Salvator Rainieri, Roque de Pedro, Leopoldo Marti, Irma Urteaga, Guillo Espel, Antonio Maria Russo and Hilda Dianda, all Argentin most significant composers. In 1994 and 1995, supported by Antorchas, Proscenio and Teatro Colon foundations, he studied with William Moersch in the United States.
As a soloist he has made appearances in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Puerto Rico, Mexico and in the USA in Miami, Illinois and Minnesota universities. He also made his debut at the Percussive Art Society PASIC in Columbus Ohio in 1999.
In 1996 he released his first disc "La marimba en Argentina". In 1997 he organized the first Contest for the composition of pieces for marimba and percussion in Argentina, along with Proscenio foundation. "Un Camino de Tierra ", his second disc was released in 1999. Enthusiastic supporter of Argentine Music , he has premiered more than 65 pieces by Argentine composers. At present, as Argentine leading and Internationally profiled marimbist, he's teaching marimba at the "Instituto Nacional Superior de Artes", in General Roca, Rio Negro and appears as artistic director of several seminaries and festivals. Recently he released his newest album "TANGOS and MORE" and appears as endorser for Inaki Sebastian mallets corporation.
