In 2001 original drummer Stefan Neuhaus departed from Swiss melodic metallers Emerald. He was followed up by Andreas Bächler, who stayed with the group until he decided to depart in January 2007. The group announced his departure in May, when they had recruited Alex Spicher as replacing sticksman.



Andreas Bächler played his last show with Emerald in September 2007, after the release of their album 'Hymns to Steel', the last one to feature Bächler on drums.



In 1995 was founding member and original drummer of Swiss melodic metallers Emerald. Previously Neuhaus had played with Oppress.
