Drummerszone.com endorsing artist Dennis Leeflang (photo) of Bumblefoot, Within Temptation, Sun Caged, and Epica fame, formed the band in 2003 alongside with guitarist Eric Hazebroek (Daeonia, Trisomy).
The Saturnine released their first EP in early 2004, which received raving reviews in the international music press.
On the threshold of a promising career, the band suffered a major set-back not long after the EP release when founding member Leeflang and vocalist Sander van den Thillart (ex-Wowbeggar) left the group.
Dennis Leeflang relocated from The Netherlands to New York City, United States, where he has been working with Bumblefoot (also known as Ron Thal, currently Guns n\' Roses\' lead guitarist). The Saturnine saw various musicians come and go since, but wasn\'t able to reach a strong line-up.
The band recently announced the return of sticksman and founding member Dennis Leeflang, who brings with him a seasoned vocalist from New York City - Matty Pritchard (ex-The Din). Guitarist of the first hour Edo van der Kolk has been replaced by Dutch riffmaster Danny Tunker (Fuelblooded).
With band members residing on both ends of the Atlantic, the band hope to reach a new audience and expand their eclectic sound.
The new incarnation of The Saturnine will initially function as a studio project, but touring opportunities and a full-length album will be concidered in the future.
The yet titleless EP will be available on iTunes and through the band\'s official website in early 2007.
