The 2017 Modern Drummer Readers Poll Winners Steve Smith and Mark Guiliana cash several categories The 2017 Modern Drummer Readers Poll Winners Steve Smith is the big winner of the Modern Drummer Readers Poll 2017. He is #1 in three categories: MVP, Rock and Educational Product for his 'Pathways of Motion' method book/DVD. Mark Guiliana is winner in both Jazz and Recorded Performance, Audio. Inducted into the Hall of Fame this year is Peter Erskine. He joins the selected group of artists that are in this category since 1979, when Gene Krupa became the the Hall of Fame artist.
