Bob Bryar played drums in My Chemical Romance from 2004-2010. He was born as Robert Nathaniel-Cory Bryar was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 31st, 1979. Bob Bryar replaced former drummer Matt Pelisser when he departed from the band after the release of their sophomore album 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge'.

Bob Bryar has played drums ever since he was four years old. He was really into playing jazz and orchestral percussion. Bob was going to go to school to study orchestral percussion, but thought about it and it didnt seem like something he could do for the long run and still feel happy with it. So he started to join bands and play rock music. Thats when Bob Bryar started to imitate Dave Weckl and Neil Peart. But he couldnt find a band that would drop everything and go out on tour, which is what he wanted to do.

Eventually Bob gave up, went to school in Florida, and ended up getting his degree in recording engineering. From there he started working as a soundman until Bob Bryar signed on as the drummer of My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing Matt Pelisser.
