Joe Mazza, Gretsch drummer and product specialist, was happy to guide you through the Gretsch NAMM 2013 booth and explains all things new for this year. Watch it all in the two videos for drum sets, and the new snares.

Gretsch Renown four-piece kit in Satin White
At NAMM 2013 Gretsch showed a prototype of an all-new Gretsch Renown four-piece drumset in Satin White finish. The redesigned kit features drums with the traditional Gretsch Round Badge round badge (like the Gretsch USA Custom line), the new ITS suspension system plus shells in different sizes compared to the current Renown series.

Brooklyn series in new configurations
Gretsch also premiered three new USA-made Brooklyn configurations. Choose between 14x18" kick, 8x12" tom, 14x14" floor and 5x14" snare or 18x22" kick, 8x12" tom, 16x16" floor and 6.5x14" snare or 16x20" kick, 8x12" tom, 12x14" floor and 5.5x14 snare. All new Brooklyn configurations are available with or without a matching snare drum. The Brooklyn line is now also offered with a new Saturn Natural finish.

Catalina Club Street kit with expandable bass drum
Also new for 2013 are the Gretsch Catalina Club Street series with Silver Sparkle finish featuring the revolutionary adjustable-depth bass drum. The design allows you to expand your bass drum and easily change your sound.

130th anniversary snare drums
The special 130th anniversary snare drums that Gretsch introduced at NAMM 2013 include a claro walnut snare drum with two maple inlays, a satin birdseye maple snare and a flat black solid aluminum snare drum.

Other snares that are new for 2013 (or were only recently introduced), include the Taylor Hawkins Signature Series snare and the Bell Brass snare in the Full Range series, which features the pure tone of bell brass with a smooth timbre and balanced overtones.

New stave snare drums
Last but not least are Gretsch's two new stave snare drums for 2013: Cherry Stave and Oak Stave. Most commonly used in professional conga drums, stave shells are built by pinning and gluing solid 7/8" thick, vertical grain blocks of hardwood together with extreme precision to form a thick and incredibly durable drum with unique tone and timbre.
