DCI world championship event back in cinemas 'Big, Loud & Live 9' returns to US movie theaters For its ninth year, Drum Corps International (DCI), marching music's major league, returns once again to movie theaters all over the United States.

The annual event 'DCI 2012: Big, Loud & Live 9' starts on Thursday, August 9. Broadcast live from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, this year's World Championship Prelims will feature rousing performances from teams of world-class brass musicians, percussionists and color guard performers.

Featuring more than five hours of pulsating performances from the top 15 drum corps, this in-theater event will also include highlights of corps that will have performed earlier in the day.

Tickets for 'DCI 2012: Big, Loud & Live 9' are available at presenting theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of presenting theater locations and prices, please visit the website (theaters and participants may be subject to change).

Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of NCM Fathom Events, says:
"The popularity of Fathom and DCI’s annual 'Big, Loud & Live' events continues to grow. These stirring cinema competitions give everyone a front-row seat to watch the most elite marching music ensembles in the world."

Drum Corps International (DCI) produces events for marching ensembles for student musicians and performers.

Participation in a DCI corps provides a great experience for youth through the art of marching music performance. Their competitive summer tour, consisting of DCI-sanctioned competitions (known as the Drum Corps International Tour) throughout the United States and Canada, culminates in August with the week-long DCI World Championships. DCI has hosted 40 World Championships in 16 North American cities since its founding in 1972.
