Crush Drums adds Andy Theakstone to artist roster UK drummer latest artist to sign with Crush Drums Crush Drums has added UK drummer Andy Theakstone of Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly! to its artist roster. Since 2006 Andy has played around the world as a session drummer, most notably with Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly. He also drummed with Paolo Nutini, Liam Bailey, and Py.

His involvement in the Africa Express concerts, curated by Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), saw Andy perform with musicians from around the world including Baaba Maal, Amadou and Miriam and Flea, bassist with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The latest artist to sign with Crush Drums is using the Crush Limited Reserve Mahogany kit, Crush Acrylic kit and a 14" Crush Hand Hammered Copper snare. Says Andy:
"The Mahogany Limited Reserve kit has a deeply warm tone whilst retaining lots of attack. This makes the kit really versatile and is perfect for interchanging between different styles both live and in the studio. The satin finish really compliments the natural mahogany shell. I love it."

Andy has toured extensively throughout UK, Europe and North America as part of headline tours and has played on the main stages of Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, T in The Park and Bestival.

Aside from session drumming, Andy is also a recording studio engineer and producer. He founded Unit Studios in 2006 which focuses on recording bands and developing singer songwriters along with sound design and composition for computer games.

Crush Drums are distributed in the UK and Eire by Sound Technology Ltd.
