Paiste launches new Formula 602 models Big sounds for a big series with new additions Swiss cymbal maker Paiste expands its legendary Formula 602 cymbal series with three new models, following the current trend for bigger and warmer yet pure sounding cymbals.

All three models were re-launched in close co-operation with influential drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, who tested the cymbals in the studio and on stage.

Vinnie is currently playing these new cymbal models on tour with Sting.

Formula 602 15" medium hi-hat
Like the 14" size, the 15" medium hi-hat is soft in feel and finesse but they possess a slightly more rich and low-end tone which increases their versatility, according to Paiste.

Formula 602 24" medium ride
The 24" medium ride is said to provide a wide array of deep complex frequencies and more overall volume:
"While retaining its controllability, the initial stick attack releases silvery highs and its rich and warm wash make this cymbal very crashable."

Formula 602 22" thin crash
Completing the existing crash trio (16", 18" and 20"), the 22" thin crash offers additional accent power that enables a drummer to achieve the characteristic Formula 602 sound on bigger stages as well as medium-loud volume settings. Due to its extremely sensitive response, this crash can also be used for subtle ride patterns.
