3 Inches Of Blood drummer fired immediately Alexei Rodriguez involved in fight with Saxon 3 Inches Of Blood drummer Alexei Rodriguez fired immediately after fight with Saxon drummer Nigel Glockler As mentioned by Classic Rock magazine, drummer Alexei Rodriguez has been fired by 3 Inches of Blood. He allegedly attacked his Saxon counterpart, Nigel Glockler, backstage at the Hard Rock Hell festival in the UK this past weekend.

The altercation left Nigel with broken glasses and a black eye. According to a 3 Inches Of Blood press release, Alexei broke his elbow. Without delay Alexei was ejected down a stairwell by security. As a result 3 Inches Of Blood failed to appear on stage.

In the wake of this unfortunate event, the other members of the Vancouver based group have apologized and immediately ejected their drummer from the band for his behaviour.

3 Inches Of Blood are currently rehearsing with a stand-in drummer to enable them to play their upcoming shows. They have issued the following apology to Saxon:
"In no way were Alexei's actions a reflection of our band. Needless to say we were completely shocked and horrified to learn about these events and are grateful that Saxon was still able to perform. We have complete respect for Saxon as a band and as individuals and would never want anyone's livelihood as a musician to be jeopardized for any reason.

Alexei's behaviour was appalling and completely unacceptable and it is our decision to immediately remove him from the band. We would like to attempt to repair the damage that has been caused and hope that you will not think of 3 Inches Of Blood as a band that habitually acts in such inappropriate ways."

Rodriguez was the group's third drummer. He joined them in 2005 after the departure of their second drummer, Matt Wood.

Alexei Rodriguez has recorded one album with 3 Inches of Blood, 'Fire up the Blades', which was released in June, 2007 via Roadrunner Records.
