Born in France in 1955, his family moved to the States when he was three then returned to France when he turned 10 and then back to the States once again. Dean would later spend three years in Korea where he started working professionally at the age of 13 as a singer/guitarist fronting a popular rock/funk horn band. After attending George Washington University, Brown entered The Berklee College of Music where he graduated with a Bachelors in Music Composition in 1977.

For more than 25 years Dean Brown has been an integral part of the global electric jazz and fusion scene, recording and touring with those major jazz artists worldwide, as well as his own groups. Brown's Guitar work has appeared on over 100 albums, including four Grammy® Award winners and he has released two solo CD's titled "Here"(2001) and "Groove Warrior"(2004) on the ESC label.
