The Jazzinvaders

The Netherlands
Music group
Jazzinvaders is a unique project by Dutch nu-jazz and afrobeat don Phil Martin and two members of the legendary jazz group The Houdini's, Rolf Delfos (horns and saxophone) and Erwin Hoorweg (piano). They first started working together during a session at the famous Amsterdam Bimhuis, where Phil Martin blended his dancegrooves with the jazz sound of The Houdini's.

The result of this is Jazzinvaders, a very very danceable mix of hardbop jazz with heavy broken beats and exotic grooves.

After some recording sessions Jazzinvaders released their first 12 (Social1205) in 2005 and immediately drew the attention of many jazz lovers from around the globe. After this, more recording session were admitted to tape and can now be heard in full affect on the Jazzinvaders debut album Up & Out! Expect heavy basslines, killer horn hooks, Latin jazz piano-riffs and a vocal contribution of the Danish jazz vocalist Mette Burild and dutch vocalist Linda Bloemhard.

Jazzinvaders musicians:
Rolf Delfos - alto/soprano/baritone saxophone
Tom Beek - tenor saxophone
